Wanaka is a town that embraces its visiting families and we have a wonderful range of activities that are suitable for families with kids of all ages. Along with the attractions below, there are also a huge range of free options to suit our discerning wee travellers. Wanaka boasts a fabulous number of parks, including the fabulous “Dinosaur Park" located on the lakefront, and “Wanaka Station Park", steeped in history and a beautiful place to picnic and explore. The family friendly walking/hiking and cycling tracks are some of the most scenic in the world.

One of our most popular options is the fabulous Puzzling World. With multiple optical illusion rooms, a huge inside cafe with endless puzzles to play with, an awesome 3D maze, this is certainly a year round, all weather family friendly activity.

Skiing in Wanaka

Wanaka has 3 fabulous local skifields Cardrona, Treble Cone and the Snow Farm. All these options have family friendly packages, however Cardrona tops our list for family friendliness. They offer a wonderful range of wide open learner and intermediate slopes, skiwee (ski) and lowriders (snowboard) learn to ski packages along with the option of using their superb nursery and ski kindy if you would like some solo time!
